Australia Day Special Offers @ some Sydney Cultural Institutions (26th of January 2012)

Australia Day on the 26th of January is the official national day of Australia. It is a public holiday in every state and territory of Australia and is celebrated by the presentation of the 'Australian of the Year' Awards on Australia Day Eve, announcement of the Honours List for the 'Order of Australia' and addresses from the Governor-General and Prime Minister. On Australia Day, community festivals, concerts and citizenship ceremonies are held all over Australia.

As part of the Australia Day celebrations, a few of Sydney’s most popular cultural institutions and public buildings will be opening their doors to the community for free or at reduced prices! Some will hold specially themed exhibits, special tours, informative talks or even a rare chance to ‘peek behind the scenes’.
