Australia Day @ Sydney Olympic Park - 26th of January 2012

Bring the family and celebrate Australia Day at Sydney Olympic Park this Thursday, 26th of January 2012. It's a great day for the community to come together to celebrate being Australians or just being in Australia. Festivities start from noon and will run till 9pm, ending with a fireworks finale. There will be plenty of on-stage and off-stage entertainment for the whole family. Some highlights include:

•Food stalls from 12pm, entertainment and rides from 2pm

•Live entertainment from 2pm featuring Endless Summer, the Stringybark bush band, Whiz Kidz and Kym Campbell

•Australia Day Ambassador, Robyn Moore - radio presenter, voice over artist and motivational speaker

•Aboriginal Dance ceremony and interactive workshops in Aboriginal painting, sand art and dance

•The Outback Aussies kids show, a kids wildlife character show

•Cultural performances from Sydney Cook Island Dance Group, Ethiopian Gospel Choir and Cedars of Lebanon

•Sheep shearing shows, sheep dog trials, whip cracking performances and an animal farm

•FREE amusement rides from 2pm, FREE pony rides and FREE face painting

•Roving performers, a community bazaar, and more.

•Fireworks finale at 9.00pm

VENUE: Bicentennial Park, Australia Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park. Sydney Olympic Park is a suburb in western Sydney located approximately 16 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD.

A FREE shuttle bus service will operate from 11am departing on the hour from Auburn and continuing on to Lidcombe and Olympic Park train Stations plus the P3 carpark. Last bus departs Bicentennial Park at 9.15pm.
