The Roaring 20s at Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum - 25th & 26th of February 2012

Black & white photo of Transport in the 20s
The Valley Heights Locomotive Depot was officially opened in January 1914 and during its heydays, assisted up to 30 trains every day from Valley Heights to Katoomba. However, when the more efficient and powerful electric locomotives were introduced, the operations at the depot were eventually terminated. Today, it is home to the Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum. It preserves the depot buildings and provides historical, educational and recreational facilities for the benefit of the Blue Mountains community and visitors. The museum exhibits include rail heritage maps, photographs, audio visual displays, memorabilia, artefacts, collection of historic railway & tramway locomotives, tankers, model railway layout and more.

And this weekend, the 25th & 26th of February, the Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum is hosting a special Roaring 20s event! Step back in time and view transport vehicles from the 1920s plus catch a ride on the historic Steam Tram.

If you purchased a ticket to the Norman Lindsay Gallery Jazz in the Garden event on 25th of February, make sure you keep the ticket and present it at the Valley Heights Roaring 20s event to get 10% discount on the admission tickets. The Roaring 20s at Valley Heights Locomotive and Norman Lindsay Gallery Jazz in the Garden event are both part of the Roaring 20s Festival in the Blue Mountains.
